Traffas–Edwards

Marilyn (Marcotte) Traffas of Sharon, Kan., is pleased to announce the engagement of her daughter Erica Traffas to Michael John Edwards, the son of Jay and Elaine (Reh) Edwards of Salina, Kan. Erica is also the daughter of the late Brian Traffas of Sharon, Kan.

Erica completed pre-nursing requirements at Kansas State University and graduated with her bachelor's of science in nursing from Bethel College in 2012. She currently lives and works in Wichita, Kan., as a registered nurse at Via Christi St. Francis in the Emergency Department and as a trauma specialist.

Michael attended Cowley County Community College before transferring to Kansas State University where he graduated with his bachelor's of science in civil engineering in 2012. He currently lives and works in Wichita, Kan., as a project engineer at KE Miller Engineering P.A.

Erica's maternal grandparents are Ruth (Goodwin) Marcotte and the late Lawrence Marcotte of Victoria, Kan. Her paternal grandparents are Mary (Gulli) Traffas and the late Vincent Traffas of Sharon, Kan. Erica's brother Aaron Traffas lives with his wife Diane and sons Nolan and Callan in Medicine Lodge, Kan. Erica's sister Megan Piester lives with her husband Andrew and daughters Kylee and Addelyn in Kingman, Kan.

Michael's maternal grandparents are the late Judy (Kirkland) Reh and John Reh of Salina, Kan. His paternal grandparents are Corrine (Calvin) Edwards and the late Lynn Edwards of Salina, Kan. Michael's sister Allison Edwards lives in Salina, Kan.

The wedding will take place at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Salina, Kan., on the 24th of October, 2015.

Michael and I are excited to meet with Justin Lister Photography this Friday and see what he has in mind! He came highly recommended by Brianna Quinley, as he was Kevin's and her photographer for their wedding.

For those of you who are K-State fans but also fans of Michael and me, you can come to our wedding now! It's an "away" game at Texas, so. No excuses.

Not many people have a picture from the first night — especially from the first hour — they met their husband, but I will.

I was introduced to Michael at a bar in Kansas City almost two years ago, and on October 24, 2015, I get to tell him exactly how lucky I am to have met him that night!
